Protocol stack announced for automotive developers

Accelerated Technology, the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics Corporation, has introduced the Nucleus NET embedded TCP/IP protocol stack for networking developers using the OSEK standard, an industry operating system specification for automotive systems. This release of the Nucleus NET protocol stack allows OSEK users to develop an automotive electronics application that can communicate outside the vehicle.

An example application would be giving an OSEK device, such an anti-lock braking system, the ability to communicate with the vehicle's telematics system to display status information to the driver. Another example would be for the automotive powertrain system to communicate with a diagnostics tool.

Accelerated Technology provides software to automotive customers including an OSEK-compliant version of the real-time kernel, network management software, and communications protocol for building automotive control units. Accelerated Technology also provides software for telematics systems development.

Nucleus embedded software is sold with source code and without royalty fees. Licenses for Nucleus NET begin at $14,495.
