LONDON Quadrant has been appointed as the sole agent and distributor for German connector company Binder. This is the first time Binder has chosen to work with a sole agent in the UK.
Quadrant (Radlett, U.K.) has been the main UK agent for Binder since 1988 and has been largely responsible for developing the UK into Binder’s strongest export market while establishing Quadrant as one of Binder’s largest worldwide distributors.
Werner Frohlich, Binder sales manager, said, “Quadrant has always been a truthful and reliable partner, the company’s long experience and understanding of Binder products, coupled with its knowledge of the UK market, ambitious future plans and major cable assembly facilities make Quadrant an ideal partner.”
David Phillips, Quadrant UK sales manager, said, “We have always enjoyed a close working relationship with Binder and this appointment will allow us to make an even stronger commitment to the Binder product range in the future and develop the new lines that are being introduced over the next few months including the new IP67 Series 620 sub-miniature snap-in and 425 over-moulded connectors.” Quadrant is also an established manufacturer of coaxial and multicore cable assemblies and as a leading distributor of high quality electronic components to the professional electronics industry.
The company employs 150 staff in a purpose built headquarters in Radlett, Hertfordshire that opened in February 2002, plus 70 staff in Czech Republic and Eastern Germany. Export sales, primarily to continental Europe, now account for over half of the company’s turnover.
