LONDON Rebound Technology Group has acquired Azego Technology Services (UK), the U.K. arm of the Deutche Neumarkdt listed Azego AG.
Rebound, the Berkshire based electronic component and hardware distribution group, was launched in 2003 and while focussing on the European market is involved in buying and selling of electronic components worldwide. Group turnover is currently in excess of £10 million with Rebound Technology specialising in the supply of electronic components, whilst Xtract Technology specialises in EPOS retail products
The Group has offices at East Garston and Newport in the UK, European offices in France and Italy and an affiliation with U.S. based CNE Direct has extended its global reach to the fast growing markets of China and Taiwan.
Azego UK is based in Basingstoke and has three divisions. Technology Services was been established in the U.K. in 1989 as a independent distributors of electronic components and has gone through a number of guises. Originally known as Freeway Electronics, it was acquired by and renamed Advanced Components Group in 2000, and which in turn was renamed Azego in 2004. The Computer Services division takes over where Technology Services finishes supplying total computer peripheral and hardware solutions. It sources and supplies hard disk drives, memory and other components to the maintenance and system builder market. It also supplies desktops, laptops, server and networking solutions to SME’s, corporate and retail and also provide value added services such as project management, installs, maintenance and the sourcing of obsolete products.
A Retail Services division was recently set up to supply consumer electronics to the retail sector. Specialising in new technologies, such as Plasma/LCD TV and new media storage devices, it can cater from single units to full container deliveries.
In January Rebound will move from its East Garston premises to the Azego UK site at Basingstoke and Azego UK will also change its name to Rebound Electronics UK reflecting the emphasis of the company’s business within the Group.
Rebound says the majority of the Azego UK accounts represent new customers and it expects the Group’s turnover exceed £23million by the end of 2006.
Azego's parent group which is based in Munich and which had sales in the first half of this year of Euro 48.2million said the proceeds of the sale of its U.K. operations will be used to speed up the expansion of the company in the growth markets of eastern Europe and Asia. It has recently set up a subsidiary in Korea.
