Reference design kit speeds time to market for low-power devices
AMD's Geode GX single-board computer reference design kit is an adaptable design that addresses a broad range of embedded devices. This includes network appliances, kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, and corporate thin clients. The kit is based on the company's Geode GX processor, a 466-MHz part that consumes 0.9 W while running the x86 instruction set. When paired with the CS5536 companion chip, USB 2.0 and ATA100 are enabled.
The Geode GX kit is a complete solution, including schematics, layout, and documentation. Other features include small size (5.5 by 5 by 1 in.), supported display resolutions up to 1600 by 1200 pixels, four USB 2.0 ports, and support for multiple operating systems, including Windows CE and Linux.
