LONDON A partnership between Renesas Technology Europe and Luleå University of Technology in Sweden has born fruit as the Mulle internet-based sensor platform designed for operating at very low power has moved in to into commercial production.
The partnership commenced in 2007 when the University joined the Renesas University programme with a focus on development projects aimed at embedded internet system (EIS) applications.
Mulle is a minimal Bluetooth equipped EIS sensor platform that is capable of using standard Internet protocols for communication. The design is based on a Renesas M16C/62P 16-bit microcontroller that features 31 kbyte RAM and 384 kbyte flash ROM on-chip memory.
