LONDON Innovision Research and Technology plc (Cirencester, England) has appointed former Zarlink and Dialog Semiconductor executive, Dr Stephen Morris, as chief technology officer.
Dr Morris has experience in complex mixed-signal IC and EDA developments; and spearheading R&D activities for ultra-low power, complex RF AMS, CMOS SoCs, particularly for applications in medical telemetry. He joins the company from Nanotech Semiconductor (Bristol, England), where he worked on fibre-optic CMOS IC developments for networking and consumer applications.
Dr Morris also has 25 years of significant specialist experience in DSP systems, digital radio architectures, analog CMOS design and mixed-signal ICs for telecoms, data and satellite communication systems.
He is a visiting Professor at the University of Westminster, has authored nearly 30 scientific papers and contributed to several books on IC design and data converters and is a Fellow of the IET (formerly IEE).
“We are very pleased to welcome Steve to the position of CTO at this important time in our development as the leading NFC IP supplier to the industry. His in-depth knowledge and wide experience of complex mixed-signal IC design will immediately benefit our engineering activities as we engage with major semiconductor companies in the development of this exciting market,” said David Wollen, CEO of Innovision.
Innovision Research & Technology is a fabless developer of short-range data communication semiconductor and system solutions, with particular focus on near field communications and radio frequency identification and ultra low-cost IC and RF electronic design.
