Developed on Peregrine Semiconductor's proprietary UltraCMOS silicon-on-sapphire technology, the PE926C31 RS-422 Rad-hard transmitter and PE926C32 RS-422 Rad-hard receiver are aimed at low-power space applications. The parts feature a single event upset (SEU) immunity of less than 10-10 errors/bit-day; high-speed operation at less than 10 ns; and a power spec that's below 150 mA (unloaded). The PE926C31/32 devices operate at 3.3V with a total dose tolerance guaranteed to 300,000 Rads (Si), which makes them suitable for satellite applications. Evaluation kits support development with the devices, which are packaged in 16-lead ceramic flat packs (CFPs). The chipset is in production now.
