London UK RS Components UK has won three sections of the ECMOD 2003 Catalogue Awards as well as the prize for Best Overall entry. The ECMOD Awards is in its sixth year covers the catalogue and home shopping with over 180 entries including start-ups, small niche businesses, charities, e-tailers and larger multi-national channel marketing organisations.
RS Components won three out of four possible business to business sections covering coming out top in the Best All Round Catalogue Business (annual sales of over £50 million); Best Multi-Channel Business; best transactional website (annual web sales over £1.5 million).
The All Round Catalogue Business entries were judged on strict criteria including: merchandise range, market positioning and proposition, creative execution, production quality, effectiveness, targeting, clarity of offers, guarantees and customer ordering information and collateral materials such as mailing packs.
The judges for the Best Multi-Channel Business looked for a company that afforded its customers the convenience of a truly integrated offering. RS's provide a mixture of channels including a 7-part catalogue, CDs, trade counters, Internet trading and direct mail proved to be the winning strategy.
Judges for the best Transactional Website award looked for thoughtfully designed sites that combined ease of use with quality presentation, clarity, swift navigation, strong offers, brand positioning, professional fulfilment and which make a measurable contribution to new customer recruitment and profits.
