LONDON At the conclusion of a tender process that commenced in November 2007, RS Components is one of the companies that have secured a framework agreement with the National Universities Working Party on Electronic Components (NUWPEC), a nationally co-ordinated committee formed by the universities regional purchasing consortia in 1993.
On behalf of the consortia, NUWPEC ensure value for money procurement of electronic & electrical tools, components and service aids, batteries, test & measurement equipment, mechanical tools and fixings. The agreement recognises RS Components as a key supplier of all six product categories tendered by the committee.
The agreement is available to all HE purchasing consortia members in the U.K. (including the majority of the Russell Group of Universities, which is an association of major research-intensive universities) and the U.K. research councils.
David Johnson, Chairman of NUWPEC said “The joint award to RS Components is the culmination of a tender process that commenced in November 2007. The new framework agreement will offer all the members of the six university purchasing consortia throughout the UK an improved range of quality products at competitive prices. We have recognised the improvements the company has made, particularly over the past few years and we look forward to working with them, developing our relationship and seeing the many benefits they can bring to the HE sector over the coming years.”
