LONDON Schaffner Ltd has appointed Tim Thompson to the position of EMC Systems Engineer. In his new role he will work closely with customers to meet their needs for EMC test systems will operate worldwide to liaise with customers throughout the system design process, oversee installation and provide full training to end-users.
Thompson (left) is a graduate from UMIST and spent eighteen years working as a RF Systems Engineer designing, down to component level, military radio systems for both fixed and mobile applications.
He gained further relevant experience working on vehicle license plate recognition systems, testing industrial computers and EMC compliance testing at a major national test house. In addition to RF design and test he has a broad knowledge of IT systems management and integrating complex systems made up of components from multiple sources. Fully conversant with all aspects of on-site commissioning Tim will also ensure full technical documentation will be provided will all systems contracts.
