London, UK Paul Dixon is the new managing director of Schaffner's UK operations, taking over from Michael Lowe who set up the subsidiary for the Swiss parent company twenty years ago.
Lowe will be continuing for a time as a non-executive director engaged on special projects. He said “I have had a very rewarding time with Schaffner and this is a good opportunity to bring in a new chief executive. The worst of the recession in our industry is now over and we are seeing real growth in demand for our products.”
Dixon, comes to Schaffner from IFR where he had a range of roles in Europe and has experience of RF and communications test and measurement equipment.
Dixon, said, “The engineering resources of Schaffner are ideally suited to meet the growing demands of communication and control systems in major emerging markets such as automotive, networking and automated manufacturing.”
Schaffner UK a wholly owned subsidiary of the publicly quoted Schaffner EMV of Switzerland, a leader in EMC technology, designing and manufacturing a range of EMI/RFI suppression components, EMC test equipment, PSU ATE, cable harness test and electro-emulation systems. It operates a comprehensive pre-compliance EMC test consultancy service from its Wokingham test lab, and is also UKAS-accredited for calibration of a range of EMI simulators.
