Peterlee, UK The Seaward Group of companies has sold its electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) product business to Com-Power of California. The electromagnetic compatibility test product range had been developed over a period of 10 years with the aid of a network of UK Universities.
The group also includes Seaward Electronic, Clare Instruments and Rigel Medical and the proceeds of the EMC sales will be reinvested in product and market development in each of these particular areas.
Com-Power Corporation is a manufacturer of technical solutions for the EMC, telecommunication and product safety testing industry.
Rod Taylor, managing director of the Seaward Group, said, “The sale of the business to Compatible or Com-power USA will enable the company to continue to drive its focus towards electrical safety testing instrumentation while ensuring that its EMC customers continue to receive the support of a business that is a specialist in EMC technology.”
From its facility in County Durham, Seaward was the first company to introduce combined EMC test products and produced a complete set of instrumentation for both emissions and immunity testing.
