Sensor lets developers adjust sensitivity

Allegro’s A1377 linear Hall-effect sensor, with its broad sensitivity range and onboard diagnostics, is well-suited for automotive and industrial applications, such as linear and rotary position sensing in actuators and valves. Device sensitivity is adjustable from 1 mV/G to 14 mV/G, and the part operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +150°C.

The programmable sensor employs segmented, linearly interpolated temperature compensation, which reduces total error across the entire temperature range. User programmability via the VCC and output pins allows engineers to fine-tune performance for their particular application.

This ratiometric Hall-effect sensor produces a voltage output that is proportional to the applied magnetic field.
