Single-chip motor driver targets IoT

A single-chip 2.6 A driver for brushed DC motors, STMicroelectronics’ STSPIN250 targets battery-powered portable and wearable applications. This low-voltage, energy-efficient driver integrates a power MOSFET bridge and fixed off-time PWM current controller in a tiny 3×3 mm VFQFPN package.

The STSPIN250 offers a low on-resistance power stage, just200 m٦ total for both high side and low side, and standby current consumption of less than 80 nA to help maximize battery runtime and minimize equipment case temperature. In addition, a supply voltage range of 1.8 V to 10 V allows designers to specify a power source as small as a single Li-ion cell.
