Telelogic signs wireless LAN deal with Silaria for 802.11 solution

Telelogic has signed a contract to provide a solution for the IEEE 802.11 standard to processor developer Silaria. Parts of the standard for the 802.11 MAC protocol have been documented in SDL using Telelogic's Tau SDL development tools.

Telelogic will implement the 802.11 MAC Layer module in Silaria's products.

Silaria is developing full MAC and PHY solutions for 802.11 based platforms around their deeply embedded Proteus3 processor and decided to use Telelogic's 802.11 MAC-solution in order to accelerate their time-to-market and reduce project risk.

Silaria aims to have a Proteus3-based product using the stack and supporting 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g available from the third quarter of this year. These platform solutions will be optimised for streaming video and voice over packet applications.
