Tiny ICs target critical automotive systems

AEC-Q100 Grade 0 analog ICs, the LM2904WHYST dual op amp and LM2903WHYST dual comparator from STMicroelectronics, come in 4.9×3.0-mm MiniSO8 packages—half the footprint of the standard SO8. Able to operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +150°C, these tiny devices allow designers to miniaturize automotive ECUs (electronic control units) deployed in extreme temperature environments and safety-critical systems.

The LM2904WHYST comprises two independent, high-gain op amps with frequency compensation implemented internally. It can be used in both automotive and industrial control systems, operating from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages.
