Transatlantic deal links RTOS and middleware

LONDON — Objective Interface Systems, Inc. (OIS), and Sysgo AG, have formed a technology alliance to integrate OIS' communications technologies with Sysgo’s portfolio of operating systems.

Product integration between Sysgo's (Klein-Winterheiom, Germany) real-time operating systems (RTOS) and OIS' (Herdon, VA) communications middleware for high-performance applications should be useful for makers of communication systems, radar and sonar systems, avionics systems and other security- and performance-critical applications.

Torsten Sehlinger, vice president of marketing at Sysgo says the deal “will allow our customers to establish communications among diverse systems, even the most mission-critical—without having to make modifications at the code level.”

OIS provides service-oriented architecture middleware, application communications middleware and secure communications middleware development tools based on the multiple independent levels of security/safety architecture to meet the requirements of military and aerospace, telecommunications, data communications, industrial automation and process control, transportation and consumer electronics markets.

Sysgo specializes in design, implementation and configuration of device software for the embedded market. In addition to the PikeOS RTOS for safety-critical systems, and ELinOS embedded Linux development environment, the company offers development of device drivers, board support packages and firmware.
