Transmeta has established strategic agreements with three European-based design firms. IO Technologies, Marek Micro, and Technology Rescue are to provide a support infrastructure for customers developing x86-compatible embedded designs based on the Transmeta processors.
The firms provide European customers with design and manufacturing services for embedded systems and Transmeta says the signing of these agreements reflects the growing number of embedded design opportunities for the company in the European market.
“Our firm has already implemented several projects based on Transmeta's technology, including BIOS development for the recently announced VoiceCom VoiceButler,” said Peter Marek, general manager, Marek Micro.
IO Technologies was set up in 1997 in Copenhagen, Denmark and is capable of handling electronic design and development from idea to production. Marek Micro is an electronic services company with experience in the development of hardware and BIOS solutions and was set up in 1999 in Amberg Germany. Technology Rescue specialises in embedded board design and manufacturing and is based in Trappes, France where it was set up 1985.
