    • Thanks Ken. Having experienced both success and failure with Waterfall and Agile, I suggest that an optimum approach is neither, rather it is based on perceiving these as a continuum, then positioning along that continuum depending on the characteristics of the requirement being addressed .. adopting an agile meta method, as it were. For example a requirement with complex inter-dependencies will typically benefit from significant up-front, waterfall like design to identify what and how components relate, whereas requirements with relatively independent components or components with clear serial dependency can often be tackled using a more iterative approach.

    • CoAP is brilliant, as is Californium. However I just wish there was better deployment documentation for the latter, particularly configuration and usage instructions, for example for setting-up DTLS for use with CoAP. This would be helpful, especially for those of us for whom Java isn't a mainstream language.
