London, UK Vast Systems Technology has opened a sales and support office in Munich, Germany, and added Franz Maidl as director of sales in Europe.
The company, which provides software tools, models and methodologies for creating cycle-accurate, virtual platforms for system-level architectural design and analysis, embedded software development, and hardware/software co-verification, already has a UK office.
Maidl has more than 20 years of experience with semiconductor and automotive electronic design organizations in Europe. Most recently, he was vice-president and general manager of European operations for Innoveda, which was sold to Mentor Graphics in 2002.
Previously, Maidl was at i2 Technologies as director of SRM and content for Europe, and for 12 years was with Mentor Graphics, most recently as area director for central Europe.
Dr. Elof Frank has also joined Vast Systems Technology with responsibility for application services in Europe. Previously he was a key contributor to startup Get2Chip, from the company's inception in 1998 until its acquisition in 2003 by Cadence Design Systems.
