Vector buys AUTOSAR development facility

LONDON — Vector Informatik GmbH has acquired the software division of Micron Electronic Devices AG, the developer of the MICROSAR product line, to fill out its lineup of AUTOSAR based software components.

Dr. Helmut Schelling, CEO of Vector Informatik GmbH, said, “Today Vector’s base software components for network communication and operating systems designed to the OSEK standard are already widely used, and they can be found in many automotive ECUs in production. By adding MICROSAR to its product lineup Vector can supply the entire core and a runtime environment per the AUTOSAR specification for many different microcontroller types and devices. In combination with Vector’s DaVinci Tool Suite this gives the user a platform for developing AUTOSAR-conformant control modules.”

The purchase includes a facility in Regensburg which has around 30 employees and which Vector plans to expand. It develops standardized products for the automotive industry that are an optimal fit for Vector’s product portfolio.
