Ventana SBCs target next-gen embedded network apps

The new Ventana Family from Gateworks Corporation features six single board computers (SBCs) based upon the low power, high performance, Freescale 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Quad Core i.MX 6 processor. In conjunction, four connectivity expansion modules provide users with additional expansion for Mini-PCIe, Mini-PCI, GbE Ethernet, and Fiber ports.

The new SBCs feature full HD video input and output, up to 4GB DDR3 DRAM, up to 2GB NAND Flash on-board, dual GbE Ethernet ports, microSD, SIM, USB, and up to six Mini-PCIe expansion sites. Ventana SBC network processor boards are targeted for advanced embedded network communication systems in the industrial, medical, automotive, transportation, smart grid, M2M, military and consumer markets.

Features include: full HD video, 5X higher speeds, onboard FLASH memory, configurable connectivity, long lifetime availability, very low power, small form factors, advanced system monitoring, specialized embedded features, a comprehensive open source Linux board support package (BSP), full industrial temperature operating range of -40 to 85⁰C, simple customization and are all Made in the USA.

Configurable connectivity allows developers to tailor the system to meet their needs. From 4x Mini-PCI expansion sockets to 24x Mini-PCIe expansion sockets; up to 6 GbE Ethernet ports; two SFP Fiber Ports, accelerometer, CAN Bus, Serial RS232/RS485, GPIO, I2C, mSATA, USB, LVDS, HDMI, composite/component video and GPS.
