Versatile device operates with 13.56 MHz RFID readers
The EM4094 is an analog front-end IC for 13.56-MHz RFID readers. This versatile IC, developed by EM Microelectronics, accommodates a wide range of microcontrollers, supports multiple communication protocols, and is suited for low-cost or handheld reader solutions.
The low-voltage EM4094 can be operated with a supply voltage ranging from between 3.0 and 5.0 V, with output power up to 200 mW. It integrates an 848-kHz BPSK decoder, a task that's typically handled by the microcontroller. As a result, a lower cost MCU can be selected.
The part can be used in a wide range of reader systems with sub-carrier frequencies between 212 and 848 kHz. It covers the ISO14443 A and B, Sony FeliCaTM, or ISO15693 standards and operates with NFC devices.
