Very low profile RDIMMs support blade server applications

Sunnyvale, CA—ATP Electronics Inc. is offering 2GB two-rank DDR2-667 registered dual inline memory modules (DIMMs) that are designed for use in blade servers. Built using mainstream 512MB DDR2-667/533 devices, these modules are optimized for cost and target high-performance computing (HPC) applications.

Using 2GB very low profile (VLP) DDR2-667 registered DIMMs, OEM manufacturers will be able to populate 8 DIMM slot blade servers with up to 16GB of high-speed memory. Registered error correction code (ECC) and unbuffered (UNB) ECC/Non-ECC modules are available. 4GB density modules are expected to be released shortly. VLP DDR1 memory modules are also available upon request.
