Since the early 1990s, the annual Embedded Market Study has surveyed embedded systems design teams on their design preferences, project realities, and work environment. With the 2013 results tabulated, study sponsor UBM Tech will preview this year's findings during the webinar “Our 2013 Embedded Study & What It Means for You” on Tuesday March 19, 2013 from 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET.
Alex Wolfe, editor-in-chief of EE Times and Embedded.com, and David Blaza, vice president of sales and business development for UBM Tech Electronics, will summarize this year's findings and answer audience questions. They'll reveal which vendors have the most brand and product awareness; what developments have changed the design process over the past year; and what daily challenges embedded systems project teams are facing.

“So-called free operating systems like Android get lots of attention,” said Wolfe about this year's study results. “However, it's important to remember that the commercial embedded OSes in our survey have, over the years, actually become more robust and better capable of handling serious applications in the key rising verticals, such as automotive, industrial and automation, and medical.”
The survey will also be presented at the DESIGN West conference in the expo floor theater on April at 4 p.m. at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif.
