Cardiff, UK Welsh technology start up and spin out companies could win prizes with a total value of £70,000 in The Technium Challenge.
The business planning competition is designed to identify technology based companies with fast, high growth potential and to encourage these indigenous companies to take forward innovative projects.
The overall winner has the opportunity to enter a fast track route into a Technium incubation centre in Wales. Companies can access facilities and expertise from University centres of excellence as well as benefit from on-site business support from the private and public sectors.
Sponsored by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and supported by the WDA and Welsh Assembly Government, the Technium Challenge is being organised by William Battle Learning.
Four regional winners will each receive prizes valued at £17,500 consisting of_£5,000 towards 12 months rental in a Technium of choice;_£5,000 cash towards specialist consultancy support for business development and management consultancy support valued at £7,500 from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The competition is open to individuals, scientist, students, graduates, entrepreneurs, new businesses, spin outs and start ups. Ideally the companies or interested individuals should be engaged in research and development, already have – or wish to have — links with academia and have in place – or wish to recruit – a capable management team.
