Wolfson Chinese wafers exceed expectations


EDINBURGH, Scotland — Wolfson Microelectronics has received first wafers from CSMC Technologies which is providing a foundry services using the 150mm fab facility at Wuxi, China.

John Urwin, operations director of Wolfson Microelectronics, said, “Tests show that they exceed our performance and high quality expectations thus enabling us to ramp up production immediately across a number of products.”

Founded in 1997, CSMC-Tech's Fab 1 is the first and one of the largest open foundries in China. It provides foundry services mainly for logic, mixed signal, high voltage, and non-volatile memory ICs, down to 0.35micron process technology.
