LONDON The Young Electronics Group has completed the acquisition of Sterling Components, the Slough based distributor of passive, electromechanical and inductive components. The deal includes both Sterling Components Ltd, and its subsidiary Cabcon (UK) Ltd.
For now, Sterling Components and Cabcon will continue to operate as normal out of its Slough facility, and the internal and external sales contacts will not change. The operations will relocate to Young Electronics Group's High Wycombe headquarters later in the year.
Allan Willoughby, Chief Executive at Young Electronics, said, “The acquisition of Sterling Components and its subsidiary Cabcon (UK) perfectly complements the current divisions of the Young Electronics Group. It creates a powerful new force in the electronic components distribution market, bringing a wider, more comprehensive range of components to new and existing customers but with a continued dedication to customer service.”
Terry Bradon of Sterling added, “I am very confident that Young's market knowledge, strong sales force and its award winning service will open up new opportunities for us.”
Sterling Components was established in 1984 and has a 40,000sq ft facility in Slough and an Irish sales office close to Dublin.
